CHARLESTON — A Logan County man was arrested Monday in Charleston after police say he distributed antisemitic flyers in several hotel parking lots and performed a Nazi salute at authorities.

According to a criminal complaint, Jeremy Harris, 27, of Davin was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct after placing offensive flyers on cars at the Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn Express, and the Best Western/Quality Inn hotels in Charleston. Police say the flyers contained material blaming the Jewish faith for the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, gun control, and the LGBTQ community. (Editors note: by this description we can confirm these are GDL flyers).

Police say the flyers also represented circumcision practices performed by the Jewish in a “very offensive manner.”

Police located Harris in a Toyota Tacoma on Washington Street East in downtown Charleston while searching for more flyers. According to police, the truck had an expired registration.

According to the complaint, a large bag of the same flyers were found in the front passenger floorboard of the truck. During the investigation and while a citation was being issued, police say they asked Harris to stop using profane language.

Sgt. Travis Bailes of the Charleston Police Department writes in the criminal complaint that Harris shouted, “F*** you. Heil Hitler,” and presented a Nazi salute to Bailes after he was given his citation. Harris was then arrested on the misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

Harris was taken to South Central Regional Jail and arraigned on a $100 cash only bond, which he has since posted.
